Skilled Independent Visa

Temporary Skill Shortage Visa (Subclass 482)

The Subclass 482 visa (often referred to as the TSS visa) allows an Australian employer to sponsor an overseas worker to fill a specific skill shortage position. This visa is divided into three streams (Short-Term, Medium-Term, and Labour Agreement), with the Medium-Term stream typically offering a pathway to permanent residency via the Subclass 186 visa. It is a critical visa for applicants who have secured a job offer but do not yet meet the points requirements for skilled migration.

The 5 Critical Stages We Manage for You

Business Sponsorship Approval

We manage the initial application for the employer to become an approved Standard Business Sponsor (SBS), ensuring they meet all legal training benchmarks and business requirements.
Compliance Focus: Ensures the employer meets their stringent legal obligations before hiring, protecting them from future penalties.

Nomination & Genuine Position Test

We prepare the nomination application, proving the genuine need for the overseas position and confirming that the salary meets the Annual Market Salary Rate (AMSR) threshold.
Scrutiny Management: The DHA strictly assesses the genuineness of the role. We structure evidence to successfully overcome this crucial test.

Employee Visa Application & Skills

We manage the visa application for the employee, ensuring they meet the required English language level, two years of relevant work experience, and hold a positive Skills Assessment (if required).
Efficiency: We coordinate evidence from the employer and employee simultaneously to submit a complete, decision-ready application.

Medium-Term PR Strategy

If the occupation is on the MLTSSL, we advise the employee and employer on the specific requirements needed over the next three years to qualify for the Subclass 186 PR visa.
Future Security: We ensure the employee's work experience and employer commitment align perfectly with the future permanent visa criteria from day one.

Post-Grant Obligations

We provide the employer with a clear guide on their ongoing legal obligations (e.g., maintaining salary, notifying DHA of changes) to ensure continuous visa compliance for the employee.
Risk Management: We protect both parties by detailing continuous compliance requirements, preventing potential visa cancellations or sanctions.
